Sri Lanka ‘A’ defeated Pakistan Shaheens by seven wickets in the first semifinal of the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup, securing a spot in the final.
The match took place at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat on Friday, where Pakistan, choosing to bat first, struggled to build momentum and posted a modest total of 135/9 in their 20 overs.
Omair Bin Yousuf led Pakistan’s batting with a solid 68 off 46 balls, displaying resilience at the crease. However, with limited support from teammates-Haider Ali (14), Mohammad Imran Jnr (13), and Arafat Minhas (10)-the side was unable to reach a competitive score.
Sri Lanka ‘A’ bowlers kept a firm grip on the game, with Dushan Hemantha taking a standout 4/21 in his four-over spell, while Eshan Malinga and Nipun Ransika contributed with two wickets each. In response, Sri Lanka ‘A’; chased down the target of 136 comfortably in the 17th over, losing just three wickets.
